Contraindications

• Amlodipine + Enalapril is contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatment.

• It is also contraindicated in those with hereditary or idiopathic angioedema and those who are hypersensitive to any component of this combination.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with aliskiren (a renin inhibitor), lithium (an antimanic agent), NSAIDs (like diclofenac), potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics (like potassium chloride or amiloride), simvastatin (an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor), and antidiabetic agents (like acarbose, miglitol).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose may result in extreme dizziness, fainting, and fast or slow heartbeat. If an overdose occurs, seek emergency medical attention.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is close to the time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this combination. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• Adjust your position slowly when rising from a seated or lying position to manage lightheadedness or dizziness.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Amlodipine + Enalapril is contraindicated during pregnancy and should be discontinued as soon as pregnancy is detected. Its safety during lactation has not been established. Always consult your doctor before using this combination during breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised when using this combination in patients with severe aortic stenosis or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy owing to the risk of significant lowering of blood pressure.

• Patients with kidney disorders or those undergoing dialysis should also exercise caution, as well as those with liver problems.
