Contraindications

• Atenolol + Nifedipine may interact with other blood pressure-lowering pills (e.g., chlorthalidone, ramipril), antipsychotic medicines (e.g., alprazolam, risperidone) and anti-HIV medicines (e.g., nelfinavir, ritonavir).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this combination may cause severe hypotension, bradycardia (resting heart rate that's slower than normal), and other cardiovascular effects. If you suspect an overdose, seek immediate medical help.

• If you forget to take a dose of Atenolol + Nifedipine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double up on doses.

Management of Side Effects

• Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• Taking the medication at bedtime may help manage daytime fatigue and dizziness.

• Rising slowly from sitting or lying positions can prevent dizziness or lightheadedness.

• Drinking plenty of fluids can help manage nausea and peripheral oedema.

• Atenolol + Nifedipine may cause dizziness or lightheadedness. If you experience these effects, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.

Caution in Other Conditions
