Contraindications

Medications to Avoid with This Drug

• Avoid applying other creams containing corticosteroids. Also, avoid harsh soaps or cleansers, skin care products with alcohol, and other medications containing benzoyl peroxide, resorcinol, sulphur, tretinoin, or medicated cosmetics. Your skin may become inflamed.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• The prolonged use of this combination can result in the absorption of corticosteroids in the blood. It can cause skin thinning, inflammation of the hair follicles, excessive hair growth, or reduced skin pigmentation. Therefore, this lotion should be used for the shortest duration as the doctor directs.
• You may apply the missed dose of Betamethasone + Salicylic Acid as soon as you remember and continue with your regular dosing schedule.

Management of Side Effects

• The side effects of Betamethasone + Salicylic Acid are temporary and generally harmless. They resolve when the medication is discontinued. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• This medicine should not have any effect on your ability to drive or use machines. Check with your doctor if you feel any side effects that may stop you from driving or using machines.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Caution is advised during pregnancy and breastfeeding. This medicine should not be used during pregnancy unless you are told to do so by your doctor. If you are breast-feeding, you may use this medicine but do not apply it to the breasts to avoid accidental ingestion by the infant.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Do not apply Betamethasone + Salicylic Acid if you have thin skin, skin ulcers, broken veins, or acne. It is also not recommended for athlete’s foot, cold sores or chickenpox, boils or spots, perioral dermatitis (dermatitis around your mouth or chin), and rosacea.

Special Dietary & Lifestyle Recommendation

• Do not use this combination for more than 2 weeks.
• You should notice your skin improve after just a few days of using this medicine. If there is no improvement after 7 days, you should stop using the cream and consult your doctor.
• Do not apply a bandage or dressing on the area being treated.
• Avoid getting this medicine into your eyes. If it gets into the eye, this may lead to eye irritation.
• Avoid smoking and coming into contact with bare flames since Salicylic Acid and Betamethasone Cream can readily catch fire and burn.
• Refrain from scratching, which can worsen itching and cause further damage to the skin.
