• Cabazitaxel can be administered via the intravenous route and is available as a concentrated solution (infusion).

Age and Dose Restrictions

• Cabazitaxel is primarily intended for use in adults aged 18 and older.

Contraindications

• Cabazitaxel should not be used by adults with severe hypersensitivity to the medicine. It is also not suitable for those with severe hepatic impairment.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This medicine may interact with antifungals (such as ketoconazole), antibiotics (such as rifampin), and anticonvulsants (such as carbamazepine).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Cabazitaxel may result in severe side effects such as neutropenic fever/sepsis, severe hypersensitivity reactions, and gastrointestinal bleeding. If you suspect an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.
• If you miss a dose of Cabazitaxel, contact your doctor right away for instructions. Do not double up on the next dose to make up for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• To manage nausea and vomiting, take small, frequent meals instead of large ones and drink plenty of fluids.
• Maintain good oral hygiene to manage taste alterations.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Cabazitaxel may cause dizziness or confusion. If affected, avoid driving, operating machinery, or engaging in activities that require mental alertness.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Cabazitaxel may cause foetal harm. It is not recommended during pregnancy unless considered essential by your doctor.
• Animal studies have indicated that Cabazitaxel is excreted in maternal milk. Consult your doctor before using this medicine while breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with mild or moderate hepatic impairment should use Cabazitaxel with caution and under the supervision of a doctor.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Avoid grapefruit and its products as they may block the CYP3A4 metabolism of Cabazitaxel .
• Regular gentle exercise such as walking or yoga may help to keep your body strong and improve your sense of well-being during treatment.
