How Cefpodoxime + Ofloxacin works

  • Cefpodoxime + Ofloxacin are antibacterial agents.
  • Cefpodoxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that prevents the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to a bactericidal effect.
  • Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits the bacterial enzyme DNA gyrase. This enzyme is essential for DNA replication and repair. By interfering with this process, ofloxacin disrupts bacterial DNA synthesis and inhibits bacterial growth, making it effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria.
