Contraindications

• It's not recommended for people with viral, fungal, mycobacterial, or untreated parasitic eye infections.
• Patients with a history of serious blood disorders, like aplastic anaemia or bone marrow suppression, are also advised not to use this medicine.

Other Medications to Avoid With This Medicine

• This combination may interact with other medications including antibiotics (such as erythromycin and ofloxacin), and anticoagulants (like warfarin and aspirin).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• In case you happen to put a few extra drops of this medicine in your eye, do not panic. Rinse your eyes with clean water at room temperature. If any symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor.
• If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it's close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosage schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary, generally harmless, and resolve upon discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• The burning or stinging sensation after application can be managed by applying a cold compress to your eyes.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• After instilling Chloramphenicol + Hydrocortisone, there might be a temporary blurring of vision. Therefore, avoid driving or operating machinery until your vision clears up.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• The use of Chloramphenicol + Hydrocortisone during pregnancy and lactation should be as per your doctor's advice.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution should be exercised when using Chloramphenicol + Hydrocortisone in individuals with existing eye conditions such as glaucoma or cataracts.
