• Chlorpheniramine Maleate + Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide + Phenylephrine Hydrochloride can be taken orally (tablets, capsules, extended-release tablets and capsules, chewable tablets, dissolving strips, solutions, extended-release suspensions, and lozenges).

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is intended for use in adults and children aged 4 years and older.

Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated for individuals who have severe high blood pressure or coronary artery disease.
• It should not be used by those who have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (such as isocarboxazid and phenelzine), within the past 14 days.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Chlorpheniramine Maleate + Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide + Phenylephrine Hydrochloride can interact with antidepressants (like serotonin reuptake inhibitors such as fluoxetine and sertraline), beta-blockers (such as atenolol and metoprolol), diuretics (like furosemide and hydrochlorothiazide), other antihistamines (such as diphenhydramine), decongestants (such as pseudoephedrine), and other cough/cold medications (like guaifenesin).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Symptoms of overdose may include extreme sleepiness, confusion, hallucinations, seizures, fast or irregular heartbeat, and loss of consciousness. If you suspect an overdose, contact a poison control centre or emergency room immediately.
• If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• Increase your fluid intake or use sugar-free candy to stimulate saliva production for dry mouth.
• To manage drowsiness, consider taking the medicine when you can rest and recover, such as before bedtime. Do this only after consulting your doctor.
