Contraindications

• Domperidone + Ilaprazole may interact with antiarrhythmic medicines (e.g., amiodarone and sotalol), antipsychotics (e.g., risperidone and haloperidol), antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine and sertraline), macrolide antibiotics (e.g., erythromycin and clarithromycin), antifungal agents (e.g., ketoconazole), and HIV protease inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir).

Overdose and missed dose

• In a case of overdose, symptoms like drowsiness, confusion, and uncontrolled muscle movements may occur. Treatment involves monitoring vital signs and managing symptoms. Severe cases may require hospitalization. Consult your doctor immediately.

• If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But avoid doubling the dose.

Management of side effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• For dry mouth, sip water regularly and avoid spicy, salty, or acidic foods.

• To manage diarrhoea, ensure adequate hydration by drinking plenty of water.

• For headaches or dizziness, avoid sudden changes in posture and ensure you rest and get enough sleep.

• Domperidone + Ilaprazole may cause dizziness and fatigue. Therefore, caution is advised while driving or operating heavy machinery.

Use in pregnancy and lactation

• It is advisable to consult a doctor before using Domperidone + Ilaprazole during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Caution in other conditions

• Caution is needed when administering Domperidone + Ilaprazole to patients with liver or kidney impairment. Patients with a history of cardiac disorders should use this medicine with caution due to the increased risk of cardiac arrhythmias associated with Domperidone.

Special dietary and lifestyle recommendations

• Adopt a diet low in fatty, spicy, and acidic foods to help manage gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcer disease.

• Avoid lying down immediately after meals. Wait for at least two hours before going to bed.

• Elevate the head of your bed by 6 to 8 inches to prevent acid reflux during sleep.

• Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes that can put pressure on your abdomen and the lower oesophageal sphincter.

• Maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight increases the risk of GERD and peptic ulcers.
