Contraindications

It may also interact with medications affecting liver enzymes (such as rifampin, phenytoin), as these can alter the metabolism of Flutamide. Additionally, interactions with medications that impact liver function (such as acetaminophen) and other anti-androgens (such as bicalutamide) are possible.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Flutamide may lead to serious liver toxicity, marked by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and jaundice. Immediate medical attention is advised if an overdose is suspected.

• If you miss a dose of Flutamide, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• To manage nausea, try taking Flutamide with food or milk.

• For diarrhoea, maintain adequate hydration by drinking plenty of water.
