Age and Dose Restrictions

• This combination medication is meant for adults and children above 12 years of age. It is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age.

Contraindications

• Formoterol Fumarate + Mometasone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of the medication. Patients with untreated fungal, bacterial, or tuberculous infections of the respiratory tract should not take this medication.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA) or long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) medications (such as salmeterol, indacaterol), xanthine derivatives (like theophylline, aminophylline), steroids (like prednisone, dexamethasone), or diuretics (such as furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Formoterol Fumarate + Mometasone may cause symptoms such as chest pain, fast or irregular heartbeat, tremors, seizures, or fainting. If these symptoms occur, seek immediate medical attention.

• If a dose is missed and it is less than 12 hours until the next dose, take it as soon as you remember. If more than 12 hours have passed, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, resolving on discontinuation of the medication. However, if you experience severe side effects or worsening symptoms, consult your doctor.

• To minimise the risk of oral candidiasis, rinse your mouth with water after each dose.

• Rest and hydration can help manage headaches.

• For sinusitis or nasopharyngitis, using a humidifier to moisten air can help manage the discomfort.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Formoterol Fumarate + Mometasone may cause dizziness or fatigue. It is recommended to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience these side effects.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• It is advised to consult your doctor before using Formoterol Fumarate + Mometasone during pregnancy or while breastfeeding because the potential risks and benefits must be weighed carefully.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Formoterol Fumarate + Mometasone should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, convulsive disorders, thyrotoxicosis, diabetes mellitus, and ketoacidosis.

• It may worsen narrow-angle glaucoma and increase intraocular pressure or cataracts. Regular eye exams are recommended during treatment.
