Contraindications

• Halobetasol + Salicylic Acid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to halobetasol or salicylic acid. It should not be used for patients with fungal, viral, bacterial skin infections, tuberculous or syphilitic skin processes.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with other topical corticosteroids or keratolytic agents such as alpha-hydroxy acids (like glycolic acid, lactic acid), topical anti-infectives (like miconazole and nystatin), and oral anticoagulants (like warfarin, heparin).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose of Halobetasol + Salicylic Acid is unlikely as it is intended for external use only. Using the prescribed dosage is recommended to avoid any side effects.

• If a dose is missed, apply the medication as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve after discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• If you experience dryness or irritation of the skin after applying this medication, try applying a non-medicated moisturiser on the skin before applying Halobetasol + Salicylic Acid.

• Halobetasol + Salicylic Acid does not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• It falls under pregnancy category C, which means it should be applied during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus. Breastfeeding mothers should apply this medicine only if needed and after consulting their doctor.
