• Nadroparin is available as a clear, colourless to slightly yellow aqueous solution in pre-filled syringes. This medicine is administered subcutaneously.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults and paediatric patients above 18 years of age.

Contraindications

• Nadroparin is contraindicated in patients with active major bleeding. It's contraindicated for individuals with hypersensitivity to nadroparin and heparin.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Nadroparin may interact with anticoagulants (like warfarin), antiplatelet agents (such as aspirin and ibuprofen), thrombolytics (like streptokinase and alteplase) and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (like fluoxetine and sertraline).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Nadroparin is unlikely as it is administered by a healthcare professional. Although regular monitoring of haematocrit, haemoglobin, and anti-Xa levels may be required, if you have concerns regarding overdose, consult your doctor.

• If you miss a dose of this medicine, get it administered as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and proceed with your routine.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects of Nadroparin are temporary and resolve on their own when the medicine is discontinued. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• For minor bleeding or bruising at the injection site, apply a clean, dry bandage.

• If you experience nausea, try administering this medicine with or after meals.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Nadroparin does not affect your ability to drive or operate heavy machinery. However, if you feel dizzy or disoriented after administering this medicine, refrain from driving or operating machinery.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• The use of Nadroparin in pregnancy and lactation should only be on the advice of a doctor. It can cause foetal harm, so its use should be carefully considered.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with renal impairment should use Nadroparin with caution as dose adjustment may be needed.

• Individuals with low body weight or those in their elderly years are more at risk of haemorrhage while using this medicine and should exercise caution.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Maintain a balanced diet rich in vitamin K which aids in blood clotting. Include foods such as green leafy vegetables, fish, liver, meat and eggs.

• Stay adequately hydrated to keep your kidneys functioning properly.
