Polmacoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID). It is specifically a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. To break this down, in our bodies, there are enzymes called COX-2 that are responsible for producing other substances called prostaglandins. These prostaglandins are involved in causing inflammation and pain.
