Quinapril

Uses of Quinapril

  • Quinapril is primarily used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure, and it belongs to the class of medicines known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.

  • Additionally, it is also used to improve symptoms of congestive heart failure by increasing survival and decreasing the need for hospitalisation in people with this condition.

Side effects of Quinapril

  • Dizziness or lightheadedness

  • Headache

  • Fatigue

  • Nausea

  • Persistent cough

How Quinapril works

  • Quinapril is an Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitor.

  • It works by inhibiting the production of angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels and increases blood pressure. By reducing the levels of angiotensin II, Quinapril allows blood vessels to relax and widen, effectively lowering blood pressure.
