Age and Dose Restrictions

• It is intended to be used by adults and children above two years of age. 

Contraindications

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Terbinafine. It is also contraindicated in patients with facial rashes, psoriasis, liver disease, kidney disease, joint pain, muscle disorder, cutaneous and systemic lupus erythematosus.

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• Avoid taking antimicrobials (rifampicin), H2 blockers (cimetidine), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine), tricyclic antidepressants (despiramine), oral contraceptives (ethinylestradiol), other antifungals (ketoconazole), beta-blockers (metoprolol), and anttitussives (dextromethorphan). These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of Terbinafine.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdose can cause headache, stomach pain, feeling sick, or dizziness. These symptoms need to be managed as an emergency in a hospital setting. Therefore, strict adherence to the prescribed dose is essential.
• If you miss a dose of Terbinafine, take it as soon as you remember. But, if the next dose is near, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dosing regime.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• It may cause dizziness. Therefore, drive only if you alert after taking it.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• It is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Caution In Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in older adults and patients with heart conditions.

Special Dietary & Lifestyle Recommendation

• Wash the affected area daily with mild soap and water, then thoroughly dry it.
• After showering or bathing, ensure you dry your skin completely, paying extra attention to the areas between toes or skin folds.
• Choose moisture-wicking fabrics for underwear and socks to help keep the affected areas dry.
• Tight clothing can trap moisture, creating an environment conducive to fungal growth. Opt for loose-fitting attire, especially in the affected areas.
• As your doctor recommends, apply antifungal powders or sprays to help keep the area dry and inhibit fungal growth.
• Do not share towels, socks, or other personal items that come into contact with the affected areas to prevent the spread of infection.
• Keep your feet clean and dry, especially between the toes.
• Change shoes and socks regularly, and allow your shoes to air out between uses.
