Enuff Capsule 10

Enuff Capsule is used for the following:

• Managing acute diarrhoea episodes in adults

• Supporting treatment of acute diarrhoea in children above 3 months old

• Complementary treatment when fluid and dietary measures are not enough to manage acute diarrhoea

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the capsule.

• Follow your doctor's advice on the exact dose you should take.

• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Enuff Capsule is taken orally.

The active ingredient in Enuff Capsule is racecadotril (100 mg). Here's how it works:

• Conversion into Active Metabolite: Once taken, the racecadotril in Enuff Capsule is quickly converted into its active form known as thiorphan.

• Inhibition of Enkephalinase: Thiorphan acts as an enkephalinase inhibitor. Enkephalinase is an enzyme that breaks down enkephalins, which are naturally occurring chemicals in the body that control various processes including intestinal water and electrolyte secretion.

• Increase of Endogenous Enkephalins: By inhibiting enkephalinase, thiorphan increases the levels of endogenous enkephalins in the gastrointestinal tract. This results in a reduction of excessive intestinal secretion of water and electrolytes without altering the duration of intestinal transit time. Thus it effectively manages acute diarrhoea without disrupting normal digestive processes.

• Store Enuff Capsule in a cool and dry place, ideally at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the medicine away from direct light and moisture.

• Always keep this medication out of reach of children.

• Don't forget to use Enuff Capsule before its expiry date.

• When managing acute diarrhoea with Enuff Capsule, it's crucial to stay hydrated. Ensure you or your child consumes plenty of fluids like water, herbal teas, or rehydration solutions to replace lost electrolytes.

• During diarrhoea episodes, opt for a bland diet. Incorporate foods such as rice, toast, bananas, and applesauce, which are gentle on the stomach and can help solidify stools.
