Lubrex 0.5 % Eye Drops 10 ML

Lubrex Eye Drops are commonly used for the following:

• Providing temporary relief from dryness of the eye

• Alleviating irritation, discomfort, and burning sensation in the eyes due to dryness or exposure to wind or sun

• Acting as a protectant against further irritation of the eye

• Assisting in managing dryness of the eye linked with wearing contact lenses.

Follow these guidelines when using Lubrex Eye Drops:

• Start by washing your hands thoroughly.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the bottle upside down and gently squeeze it to release drops (as per the dose prescribed by your doctor) into your eye. Be careful not to touch your eye or eyelid with the tip of the bottle.

• Immediately replace the cap after use.

• Blink a few times but avoid rubbing your eyes.

• If required, repeat these steps for your other eye.

Lubrex Eye Drops is applied topically.

Lubrex Eye Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose (0.5 %): This ingredient serves as a lubricant with mucoadhesive properties. It moistens and lubricates the surface of the eye, forming a gel-like protective layer on the cornea and conjunctiva. This enhances the natural tear film of the eye, reduces friction during blinking, and provides long-lasting relief from dry eye symptoms.

• Stabilised Oxychloro Complex (0.005 %): Acting as a preservative, this ingredient prevents bacterial contamination in the eye drop solution once opened. It possesses antibacterial activity against a wide range of ocular pathogens that can cause infections in the eye. Its low concentration minimises toxicity for the ocular surface while still maintaining antimicrobial efficacy in this multi-dose formulation.

• Keep Lubrex Eye Drops stored at room temperature, ideally between 15°C to 25°C.

• Keep the bottle away from excessive light and moisture.

• Always keep the medicine out of reach of children.

• Use the solution within one month after opening the vial.

• If you spend a lot of time in front of screens, take regular breaks to rest your eyes. This can help manage eye dryness and discomfort, which these eye drops aim to alleviate.

• Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Adequate hydration can contribute to maintaining healthy eyes and reduce symptoms of dryness.
