Renolen Eye Drops is a combination medicine and its activity is due to the synergistic effect of its four active ingredients:

• Potassium Iodide (3.3%): As an electrolyte, potassium iodide supports the antibacterial action of phenylmercuric nitrate and enhances penetration of other active ingredients into affected tissues.

• Sodium Chloride (0.83%): Essential for maintaining electrolyte balance and osmotic pressure within the eye, sodium chloride also facilitates healing due to its mild antibacterial properties.

• Calcium Chloride (1%): This electrolyte helps maintain osmotic balance in the eye and has mild astringent properties that can reduce swelling and inflammation in the conjunctiva.

• Phenylmercuric Nitrate (0.001%): A potent organomercury compound, phenylmercuric nitrate, disrupts bacterial cell membranes and inhibits bacterial growth, aiding in clearing the infection.
