Acnestar Gel is used for the following:

• Management of acne vulgaris: This common skin condition includes symptoms like blackheads, whiteheads, and enlarged pores.

• Reduction of excess sebum production: Excess oiliness on the skin can lead to more frequent or severe acne breakouts.

• Removal of dead skin cells: This helps in maintaining a healthy skin texture.

Here's how to use Acnestar Gel:

• Start by washing the affected area with a mild cleanser and pat it dry.

• Apply a thin layer of the gel on acne-prone areas of your face and/or body once or twice daily, as directed by your doctor.

• Gently massage the gel into your skin until it is fully absorbed. There's no need to rinse off the gel afterwards.

• After application, wash your hands to avoid spreading the gel to other areas. Avoid contact with your eyes, lips, mouth, and mucous membranes.

• To see best results, continue using the gel regularly for the prescribed time period, even if your acne starts to improve earlier.

Acnestar Gel is applied topically.

Acnestar Gel has two active ingredients which work together to control acne:

• Clindamycin (1%): This component is an antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. In simple terms, clindamycin reduces the population of Propionibacterium acnes, which are bacteria often involved in causing acne. By doing so, clindamycin decreases inflammation and helps manage acne.

• Nicotinamide (4%): This ingredient is a form of vitamin B3 with anti-inflammatory properties that help calm inflamed acne lesions. Nicotinamide reduces sebum production and improves the function of your skin's outer layer (epidermis), promoting a more even skin tone.

The combined action of clindamycin and nicotinamide targets key factors contributing to acne formation - bacterial proliferation, excess sebum production, altered keratinization (process of skin cell development), and inflammation. This leads to faster resolution of acne lesions and helps prevent new breakouts from forming.

• Store Acnestar Gel in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep away from direct heat and sunlight to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always keep the tube tightly closed when not in use.

• Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.

• Since acne can be exacerbated by certain foods, try to maintain a balanced diet. Limiting your intake of dairy products and sugary foods could potentially help manage acne.

• Regular exercise is beneficial as it improves blood circulation, which can help deliver more oxygen to your skin cells and aid in acne management. Remember to cleanse your skin post-workout to remove sweat and dirt.
