Altacef 500 Tablet 10

Altacef-500 Tablet is used for managing the following health conditions:

• Infections of the respiratory tract, including bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and sinusitis

• Urinary tract infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Early stage of Lyme disease

• Gonorrhoea

Follow these instructions while taking Altacef-500 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet due to its bitter taste.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Always take this medicine as directed by your doctor.

Altacef-500 Tablet is taken orally.

Altacef-500 Tablet contains cefuroxime (500 mg) which works on the body as follows:

• Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis Inhibition: Cefuroxime inhibits the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. This action is carried out by binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) found inside the bacterial cell wall.

• Disruption of Peptidoglycan Chains: Once PBPs are inactivated, cross-linking of peptidoglycan chains which are necessary for bacterial cell wall strength and rigidity is disrupted.

• Bacterial Cell Lysis: The weakening of the cell wall due to disrupted peptidoglycan chains leads to cell lysis, causing death of the bacteria.

• Store Altacef-500 Tablet in a dry place, shielded from light and moisture.

• The ideal storage temperature is 15-30°C.

• Keep this medicine out of the reach of children to ensure their safety.

• Use Altacef-500 Tablet before the expiry date printed on the package for maximum effectiveness.

• Hydrate well: If you're managing urinary tract infections with Altacef-500 Tablet, aim to drink plenty of fluids, particularly water, to help flush bacteria out of your urinary system.

• Focus on nutrition: When dealing with respiratory tract infections, boost your immune system with a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains. This will assist your body in fighting off bacterial infections.
