Autolyse Ointment is beneficial for the following conditions:

Apply Autolyse Ointment by following these steps:

• Before each use, clean the affected area with saline or a mild wound-cleansing solution. Avoid hydrogen peroxide.

• Apply the ointment directly onto the lesion.

• Cover it with a suitable dressing such as bandages and ensure it is secure.

• Wash the lesion whenever changing the dressing.

• If any irritation occurs, consult your doctor immediately.

Remember, this ointment is for external use only and should always be used under medical supervision.

Autolyse Ointment is applied topically.

Autolyse Ointment contains two active ingredients:

• Papain (521700 IU): This proteolytic enzyme selectively digests dead tissue without affecting healthy tissue. By breaking down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids, papain assists in dissolving and removing necrotic tissue and thinning pus.

• Urea (100 mg): This keratolytic agent increases the moisture content in your skin. It softens and dissolves keratin in the stratum corneum, the top layer of your skin, thereby enhancing papain's debriding action. Urea also functions as an emollient.

Working together, papain and urea aid in eliminating adherent necrotic tissue and eschar from wound sites, hasten the separation of dead tissue and promote faster healing of the wound.

• Store Autolyse Ointment at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use to prevent air exposure.

• Don't freeze the ointment; it's best kept at normal room temperatures.

• Ensure it's kept out of reach of children for safety reasons.

• Since Autolyse Ointment is used to manage skin conditions, maintaining good hydration by drinking plenty of water can support skin health and healing.

• Avoiding direct sunlight on affected areas can help reduce potential skin sensitivity caused by the medication. It's advisable to wear protective clothing or use sunscreen when outside.
