Bio-D3 Fem Capsule is used for the following:

• Managing osteoporosis and osteopenia: These are conditions that make your bones weak and more likely to break.

• Controlling osteomalacia: This condition causes your bones to become soft.

• Preventing post-menopausal bone loss: After menopause, women often lose bone mass.

• Managing calcium deficiency: This can lead to various health problems if not addressed.

• Dealing with vitamin D deficiency: Lack of vitamin D can lead to bone diseases such as osteoporosis.

• Regulating hyperparathyroidism: Overactive parathyroid glands can lead to high levels of calcium in your blood, affecting your bones and kidneys.

• Addressing hypomagnesemia: This is a shortage of magnesium in the blood.

Bio-D3 Fem Capsule contains five active ingredients:

• Calcitriol (0.25 mcg): This is the active form of Vitamin D3 that enhances intestinal absorption and renal reabsorption of calcium. It also regulates parathyroid hormone secretion which helps mobilise calcium from bones.

• Calcium Carbonate (500 mg): This component helps increase serum calcium levels and maintains a positive calcium balance. It is essential for strengthening bones through mineralisation.

• Magnesium (50 mg): An important mineral for bone health, magnesium regulates the body's usage of calcium. It stimulates the production of calcitonin a hormone that helps preserve bone mass and activates vitamin D necessary for calcium absorption.

• Soya Isoflavones (50 mg): These plant-based estrogens bind to estrogen receptors on bone cells called osteoblasts, stimulating their proliferation and new bone formation. They also inhibit the activity of osteoclasts that break down bone tissue.

• Vitamin K2/Menaquinone (45 mcg): This vitamin activates osteocalcin a protein crucial for calcium binding to bones. It reduces bone loss by decreasing osteoclast activity, directs calcium to the bones, prevents calcium deposition in arteries, and lowers the risk of bone fractures while improving bone mineral density.
