Macsart 40 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure or hypertension

• Reducing the risk of heart attacks

• Lowering the chances of stroke

• Assisting in prevention of cardiovascular death for high-risk individuals aged 55 and above

• Helping in managing conditions of heart failure

• Management of diabetic nephropathy

Follow these instructions while taking Macsart 40 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Keep a consistent schedule and take your medication at the same time each day.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible, unless it's near the time for your next dose. In such a case, skip the missed dose.

Macsart 40 Tablet contains telmisartan (40 mg), which operates in the body through the following mechanisms:

• Angiotensin II Receptor Blockage: Telmisartan works by blocking angiotensin II from binding to its receptor (AT1) in various tissues like vascular smooth muscle and adrenal glands.

• Blood Pressure Reduction: By blocking angiotensin II, which causes blood vessels to constrict, telmisartan allows blood vessels to relax, leading to reduced blood pressure.

• Vasodilation: Inhibition of angiotensin II's actions leads to vasodilation, which is a widening of the blood vessels that can help decrease blood pressure.

• Keep your Macsart 40 Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.

• Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
