Meftal-Forte Cream can be used for the following:

• Management of minor aches and pains in muscles and joints due to arthritis

• Relief from backache discomfort

• Easing the pain of muscle strains and sprains

• Alleviating the discomfort associated with sports injuries

• Providing relief from lumbago, a type of lower back pain

• Helping manage fibrositis, an inflammation of fibrous tissue in the body

• Assisting in the control of rheumatism, a condition causing joint and muscle pain

• Reducing neuralgia pain, which is sharp, shocking nerve pain

Follow these guidelines when applying Meftal-Forte Cream:

• Ensure your hands are clean before application.

• Apply a thin layer of the prescribed amount of cream to the area where you're experiencing pain.

• Massage the cream gently until it is completely absorbed into your skin.

• Repeat this process no more than three to four times per day as directed by your doctor.

• It's important to avoid applying this cream on wounds or irritated skin.

• Consult your doctor for any specific advice on using this cream.

Meftal-Forte Cream is applied topically.

The effectiveness of Meftal-Forte Cream lies in its three active components:

• Methyl Salicylate (30%): As an NSAID, methyl salicylate inhibits prostaglandin synthesis. It also has rubefacient properties that cause vasodilation and a warming sensation masking pain perception.

• Menthol (10%): Initially stimulating the cold receptors (TRPM8) on your skin, menthol creates a cooling sensation followed by localised vasodilation that brings feelings of warmth. It also plays an analgesic role.

• Camphor (4%): This ingredient induces a sense of warmth by activating and then desensitising the TRPV1 receptors in your skin, offering pain-relieving properties.

Together these ingredients offer both cooling and warming effects on the skin which help distract from deeper muscle or joint pain providing localised relief.

• Store Meftal-Forte Cream at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Always keep the tube tightly closed after use.

• It's important to keep this cream out of reach of children.

• If you're using Meftal-Forte Cream for arthritis or other inflammatory conditions, incorporate anti-inflammatory foods in your diet. These include leafy greens, berries, and fatty fish that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

• Regular low-impact exercises like swimming, walking or cycling can help increase muscle strength and flexibility, which may reduce pain in muscles and joints.
