Orasep Gel 15ml

Orasep Gel is used for the following:

• Providing relief from pain and discomfort associated with common mouth ulcers

• Managing sores resulting from colds

• Addressing discomfort caused by denture sore spots

• Assisting in the relief of pains related to teething

• Offering relief from mouth sores caused by orthodontic devices

Here are some simple steps to apply Orasep Gel:

• Make sure that the affected area in your mouth is dry before applying the gel.

• Squeeze a small amount of gel onto a clean fingertip as directed by your doctor.

• Gently massage the gel onto each sore spot until a smooth film develops.

• Try not to eat or drink for at least 30 minutes after applying the gel, giving time for the protective layer to form.

• Always consult your doctor if the condition does not improve within a week.

Orasep Gel is applied topically.

Orasep Gel is a combination medicine with two active ingredients:

• Tannic Acid (5%): A natural polyphenol found in many plants, tannic acid serves as an astringent with anti-inflammatory properties. It works by precipitating proteins on the surface of mucous membranes and skin, creating a protective barrier over sore or ulcerated oral mucosa. This protective layer reduces inflammation, promotes tissue repair, and resists bacterial invasion while providing a mild anaesthetic effect to reduce pain perception.

• Choline Salicylate (8%): This component belongs to a class of medicines called salicylates. It acts by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins: chemicals responsible for causing pain and inflammation. By reducing prostaglandin synthesis, choline salicylate decreases inflammation, swelling and discomfort in your oral tissues.

• Store Orasep Gel in a cool, dry place, shielded from light.

• The ideal storage temperature is 15°C-30°C.

• Keep the tube tightly closed after each use to prevent exposure to air and moisture.

• Always keep Orasep Gel out of the reach of children.

• Ensure that you use the gel before its expiry date.

• Since Orasep Gel is indicated for painful mouth conditions like ulcers and sores, avoid foods that are spicy, salty or acidic, as these can cause further irritation. Opt for soft, bland foods that are gentle on your mouth.

• Maintain good oral hygiene by brushing your teeth twice daily and using an alcohol-free mouthwash regularly. This helps prevent bacterial build-up in your mouth, which could worsen your condition.
