Persol AC 2.5 Gel is used for managing the following conditions:

• Mild to moderate acne vulgaris: This is a common skin condition featuring spots, blackheads, whiteheads, and sometimes scarring.

• Prevention of new acne spots: Regular application of this gel can help prevent the formation of new acne spots.

Use Persol AC 2.5 Gel as follows:

• Start by thoroughly washing your skin with a gentle cleanser and drying it.

• Apply a thin layer of the gel over your entire face. A pea-sized amount should suffice.

• Be careful to avoid your eyes, mouth, lips, and any other mucous membranes.

• After application, remember to wash your hands to avoid spreading the gel to other areas.

• During the day, you should use a non-comedogenic sunscreen and try to limit your sun exposure.

The active ingredient in Persol AC 2.5 Gel is benzoyl peroxide (2.5 %). The activity of this ingredient can be explained as follows:

• Bactericidal Effect: Benzoyl peroxide releases free-radical oxygen that oxidises bacterial proteins in acne-causing bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes. This process effectively kills these bacteria present in the sebaceous follicles of your skin.

• Keratolytic and Comedolytic Effects: It promotes the shedding of skin cells from your epidermis more readily which helps unclog pores. In addition to opening blocked pores, it also helps prevent blackheads and whiteheads with its mild comedolytic effects.

• Anti-Inflammatory Action: By reducing Propionibacterium acnes, benzoyl peroxide decreases the metabolic by-products that trigger inflammatory acne lesions such as papules and pustules. It may also have direct anti-inflammatory effects on your skin.

• Stow Persol AC 2.5 Gel below 25°C in a dry, cool spot, shielded from direct sunlight and dampness.
