Protera Tablet is used for managing the following conditions:

• Heartburn and gastroesophageal reflux disease, also known as acid reflux, where stomach acid flows back into the oesophagus causing irritation.

• Healing and prevention of ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, which are sores that form in the lining of these organs.

• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare condition that causes excessive stomach acid production.

• Reducing the risk of stomach ulcers that can be caused by NSAIDs, a group of medicines often used to relieve pain and inflammation.

Here's how you should take Protera Tablet:

• Follow the dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor precisely.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medication; do not stop taking it without their guidance.

• Adhere to the dietary recommendations given by your doctor.

Protera Tablet is taken orally.

Protera Tablet contains pantoprazole (40 mg), which impacts the body as follows:

• Blocks Proton Pump: Pantoprazole works by irreversibly blocking an enzyme system in the stomach known as the hydrogen/potassium adenosine triphosphatase (H+/K+ ATPase), or proton pump.

• Reduces Stomach Acidity: By inhibiting the proton pump, pantoprazole blocks the final step in gastric acid production, leading to less acid in your stomach. The reduction of acid secretion is dependent on the dose you take and lasts longer than 24 hours after a single dose.

• Store Protera Tablet at a consistent room temperature of 30°C.

• Protect the medicine from light and moisture, ensuring it's kept in a dry, dark place.

• To safeguard your household, keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

• Remember to use the Protera Tablet before its expiry date for optimal effectiveness.
