Pyricontin Tablet is used for managing the following health conditions:

• Deficiency of Vitamin B6

• Morning Sickness During Pregnancy

• Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

• Certain Types of Anaemia

• High Blood Homocysteine Levels

Here's how you should take Pyricontin Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet as this might affect the controlled-release properties of the medicine.

• Try to take your medicine at the same time each day for consistent therapeutic effects.

• If you have difficulty swallowing the tablet whole, consult your doctor for advice.

Pyricontin Tablet contains Pyridoxine (100 mg) which works in the body as follows:

• Conversion to Active Coenzyme: Pyridoxine is converted into pyridoxal 5'phosphate (PLP), an active coenzyme in the body.

• Cofactor Role: PLP acts as a cofactor for over 100 enzymes involved in various biochemical reactions including protein metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, heme biosynthesis, and niacin formation.

• Amino Acid Metabolism: Vitamin B6 facilitates amino acid decarboxylation, transamination, and racemization reactions.

• Gene Expression Modulation: Vitamin B6 also modulates the transcription and expression of certain genes in the body.

• Controlled Release: The controlled-release formulation of pyridoxine allows for gradual release of pyridoxine in the body ensuring stable blood levels.
