Tiban Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of type 2 diabetes in adults who are unable to control blood sugar levels through diet and exercise alone.

• Use as a single therapy, when other lifestyle changes don't provide adequate control over blood sugar levels.

• Addition to other oral antidiabetic medicines such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or thiazolidinediones, to further improve blood sugar control.

• Use in combination with insulin to manage blood sugar levels.

Here's how you should take Tiban Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Avoid breaking or chewing it.

• You can take it with or without food.

• Do not exceed the dosage recommended by your doctor.

• Always consult your doctor before halting the medicine. It's essential not to stop taking this medicine without your doctor's approval.

Tiban Tablet is taken orally.

Tiban Tablet contains teneligliptin (20 mg). Here's how it works:

• DPP-4 Inhibition: Teneligliptin acts by blocking an enzyme known as DPP-4 in your body. This enzyme is usually responsible for breaking down certain hormones named incretins.

• Increased Incretin Activity: Teneligliptin inhibits DPP-4, increasing the activity of the incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP, which are usually released after meals.

• Insulin Synthesis and Release: The increased incretin activity boosts insulin production and release from the beta cells in your pancreas.

• Decreased Glucagon Secretion: Teneligliptin boosts insulin release and reduces the secretion of glucagon from pancreatic alpha cells.

• Blood Glucose Reduction: Collectively, these actions decrease fasting and postprandial (after-meal) blood glucose levels, helping you manage your blood sugar levels.

• Store Tiban Tablet below the temperature of 30°C.
