Glymed Lotion 250ml

Glymed Lotion is used for the following:

• Managing xerosis, which is a medical term for dry skin

• Improving senile xerosis, referring to skin dryness due to ageing

• Treating ichthyosis, a condition causing fish scale-like dry patches on the skin

• Addressing xeroderma, a condition causing abnormally dry skin

• Alleviating pruritus without skin lesions, simply meaning itchy skin with no visible rashes or bumps

• Supporting dry skin conditions associated with atopic dermatitis or eczema

• Counteracting post-treatment dryness and scaling resulting from topical medications like retinoids or benzoyl peroxide

Here's how you should use Glymed Lotion:

• Apply a small quantity of the lotion to clean, dry or slightly damp skin.

• Gently massage it all over your face and/or body until it is completely absorbed.

• Reapply as needed during the day to maintain skin hydration.

• For optimal results, apply after bathing or showering to lock in moisture.

• Be careful not to get any lotion in your eyes. If this happens, rinse thoroughly with water.

• If you experience signs of irritation or allergic reaction, stop using the lotion and consult your doctor immediately.

Glymed Lotion is applied topically.

Glymed Lotion contains two active ingredients:

• Glycerin (15%): Glycerin is a hygroscopic substance meaning it attracts water from the air and deeper layers of the skin into the stratum corneum (outer layer of skin). It helps to increase the water content in the skin, making it soft and hydrated. Additionally, glycerin also forms a protective barrier on the skin that prevents moisture loss and shields against environmental irritants.

• Olive Oil (0.5%): Oleic acid and other fatty acids in olive oil are excellent emollients that soften and smooth the skin. They replenish the skin's lipid barrier, reducing water loss from the skin and sealing in moisture. Olive oil forms a breathable layer on the skin that protects against dehydration and external damage. The antioxidants in olive oil neutralise harmful free radicals, preventing premature skin ageing. Olive oil also has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that promote skin healing.

• Store Glymed Lotion in a cool, dry place, ideally between 20-25°C.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat, as these conditions can affect its texture and effectiveness.

• Always ensure the bottle is tightly sealed after use to prevent air exposure.

• For safety reasons, keep this lotion out of the reach of children.

• Hydrate your body: Drinking plenty of water can help manage dry skin, which Glymed Lotion is used for. Aim for at least 8 glasses a day to keep your skin hydrated from within.

• Balanced diet: Consuming foods rich in healthy fats like avocados, nuts, and olive oil can enhance your skin's natural barrier, reducing dryness and irritation. A balanced diet also supports overall skin health and complements the effect of Glymed Lotion.
