• Ensure you have the OneTouch Verio Flex Glucometer, OneTouch Verio® test strips, the OneTouch Delica® Plus Lancing Device and a sterile lancet.
• Remove a test strip from the vial and insert it into the glucometer's test strip port. The metre will turn on automatically.
• Remove the cap from the lancing device.
• Insert a new sterile lancet into the lancing device.
• Twist off the lancet cap to expose the needle and replace the lancing device cap.
• Adjust the depth setting on the lancing device based on your skin thickness (higher settings for thicker skin).
• Obtain a blood sample.
• Wash your hands with soap and warm water. Dry thoroughly.
• Hold the lancing device against the side of your fingertip and press the release button to prick your finger.
• Gently squeeze your fingertip to obtain a blood drop.
• Apply the blood sample.
• Touch the edge of the test strip to the blood drop. The test strip will draw in the blood through capillary action.
• Ensure the blood sample fills the confirmation window on the test strip completely. If the sample is insufficient, an error message will appear and you will need to repeat the process with a new test strip.
• Wait for the glucometer to display your blood glucose reading. This usually takes about 5 seconds.
• The ColourSure technology will indicate if your reading is high, low or in range using colour indicators.
• Your blood glucose reading will be automatically stored in the metre’s memory.
• Sync your glucometer with the OneTouch Reveal® mobile app via Bluetooth to track and analyse your readings over time.
• Carefully remove the used lancet from the lancing device and dispose of it in a sharps container.
• Discard the used test strip according to local regulations for medical waste.
