Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is characterised physiologically by impaired metabolism and the production of hormones such as androgen and oestrogen. It affects reproductive-age women and premenopausal women.

Managing insulin resistance in PCOS can be challenging. The body may not respond to insulin normally, so higher insulin levels. This higher insulin production can result in an excess of male hormones.

Treatment options for PCOS

Nowadays, the treatment for PCOS is about lifestyle modifications and medical intervention. Lifestyle modifications are about diet, exercise, and weight loss.

Pharmacological or medical interventions certainly have a cure, but the associated side effects and the cost of medicine can be large deterrents. With the given condition, a better alternative is often required; hence, the use of medicinal plants to treat PCOS.
