• Azithromycin + Fluconazole + Secnidazole is available for oral use as a kit (tablet or capsule of Azithromycin, a tablet, capsule, or suspension of Fluconazole and sachets of Secnidazole granules).

Age and Dose Restrictions

• Azithromycin + Fluconazole + Secnidazole is intended for use for adults aged 18 and above.

Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the three components: Azithromycin, Fluconazole, or Secnidazole. It is also contraindicated in those with severe liver or kidney impairment.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Azithromycin + Fluconazole + Secnidazole may interact with antacids (such as aluminium hydroxide), antiarrhythmics (like amiodarone), anticoagulants (including warfarin), antidiabetic agents (like glimepiride) and other antibiotics (like rifampicin).

Overdose and Missed Dose

• Overdosing on Azithromycin + Fluconazole + Secnidazole can lead to severe gastrointestinal disturbances, liver damage, and heart rhythm abnormalities. Immediate medical attention is needed if an overdose is suspected.
• As this medicine is administered as a single-dose regimen, missed dose scenarios are unlikely. However, if you forget to take it at the designated time, take it as soon as you remember.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• Drinking plenty of fluids may help manage gastrointestinal side effects like nausea and diarrhoea.
• Resting or lying down may help alleviate dizziness or headaches.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Azithromycin + Fluconazole + Secnidazole may cause dizziness. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery if you experience this side effect.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• The use of Azithromycin + Fluconazole + Secnidazole during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended unless needed. Always consult your doctor before using this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Caution is advised when using Azithromycin + Fluconazole + Secnidazole in patients with liver or kidney diseases due to potential accumulation and increased risk of side effects, patients with existing or a history of blood disorders, or patients with a history of arrhythmias, specifically QT prolongation.

Special Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

• Wear loose, cotton underwear to prevent moisture build-up that can lead to fungal infections.
• Maintain good personal hygiene to prevent re-infection or spreading the infection to others.
• Avoiding alcohol is recommended to reduce the risk of liver toxicity.
• Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help flush out toxins, reduce side effects such as gastrointestinal upset, and maintain proper hydration, especially when taking antibiotics and antifungal medications.
• Fluconazole is used to treat fungal infections, which can thrive on sugar. Reducing the intake of sugary and processed foods can help minimise the growth of fungi and support the effectiveness of the antifungal treatment.
