How Cetirizine + Paracetamol/acetaminophen + Pseudoephedrine works

  • Cetirizine + Paracetamol/Acetaminophen + Pseudoephedrine is a triple combination medicine composed of an antihistamine, an analgesic and a decongestant.

  • Cetirizine counters the effects of histamine, a substance in the body that triggers allergy symptoms such as itching, sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes. It does so by blocking histamine from connecting with its receptors in your body.

  • Paracetamol or acetaminophen works in the brain. It inhibits chemical messengers, known as prostaglandins, that communicate pain and fever to your brain. This action helps reduce fever and relieve minor aches and pains.

  • Pseudoephedrine acts on the blood vessels in your nasal passages. It invigorates certain receptors causing these vessels to narrow, which helps to decrease swelling and congestion.
