Contraindications

• Diclofenac + Misoprostol is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to Diclofenac or Misoprostol.
• It is also contraindicated in patients with active gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulcer disease, and in those who have recently undergone coronary artery bypass graft surgery.

Other Medications to Avoid

• This combination may interact with aspirin and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, anticoagulants such as warfarin, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) like fluoxetine, and steroids (like prednisolone).
• It is crucial to consult a doctor before starting any new prescription or over-the-counter medications.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of Diclofenac + Misoprostol may lead to symptoms including nausea, vomiting, severe stomach pain, dizziness, and possible liver or kidney failure. If an overdose is suspected, seek immediate medical attention.
• If you forget to take a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, skip the missed dose if it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not double your dose to make up for a missed one.

Management of Side Effects

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, resolving when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of symptoms, please consult your doctor.

• If you experience abdominal pain or discomfort after taking your dose, try taking the next dose after a meal.
• To deal with nausea, try taking your medicine with or after a meal.
• Diarrhoea can be eased by staying hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids to replace any loss due to diarrhoea.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• Diclofenac + Misoprostol may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience these side effects.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Diclofenac + Misoprostol is not recommended during pregnancy, especially from the 30th week of gestation onwards due to the risk of premature closure of the fetal ductus arteriosus.
• Breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before using this medication.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding should exercise caution while using this combination.
• Caution is also advised for patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, asthma, liver or kidney problems.
