Levosulpiride + Rabeprazole

ANTACID

Uses of Levosulpiride + Rabeprazole

  • Levosulpiride + Rabeprazole is used together to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acidity, heartburn, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
  •  Levosulpiride enhances gastrointestinal motility, helping to reduce symptoms like bloating and nausea, while Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that decreases stomach acid production, providing relief from acid-related symptoms and promoting healing of the esophagus and stomach lining.

Side effects of Levosulpiride + Rabeprazole

  • Pain
  • Pharyngitis
  • Flatulence
  • Infection
  • Constipation
  • Dizziness

How Levosulpiride + Rabeprazole works

  • Levosulpiride + Rabeprazole is a gastrointestinal agent.
  • Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent, meaning it helps improve the movement of food through the digestive system. It works by increasing the contractions of the stomach and intestines, which helps prevent food from backing up and causing discomfort. By enhancing gastrointestinal motility, levosulpiride alleviates symptoms such as nausea and bloating, promoting smoother digestion and reducing digestive discomfort.
  • Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. By blocking the production of stomach acid, it helps to relieve symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion. This reduction in acid helps to soothe the digestive tract and promotes healing of acid-related conditions, making it effective for managing and preventing discomfort associated with excessive stomach acid.

  • Long-term use of proton pump inhibitors may be associated with a risk of decreased calcium absorption. Ensure an adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D, either through diet or supplements, under the guidance of your doctor.
  • Avoid rushing through meals, and take your time to enjoy and properly digest your food.
  • Finish your last meal or snack at least two to three hours before bed. It allows the stomach to empty partially, reducing the likelihood of acid reflux while lying down.
