• Losartan is available for use via oral (tablet) route.

Age And Dose Restrictions

• It can be used in adults and children above 6 years of age with appropriate dose calculation.

Contraindications 

• Losartan use is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to it and in diabetic patients taking Aliskiren. 

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• Avoid taking Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, pain and anti-inflammatory agents, diuretics, lithium, medications for epilepsy, potassium supplements and antibiotics.

Overdose And Missed Dose

• If a dose is missed, it should be taken if there is a time gap from the subsequent dose. If not, then a routine dosing regimen should be followed
• Overdose symptoms of losartan will include hypotension, tachycardia or bradycardia. Inform your doctor about these effects and follow the instructions accordingly.

Management Of Side Effects

• Take this medicine with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects and continue taking it as prescribed. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment. To avoid falls and injuries, sit down or lie down as soon as you feel dizzy. move carefully, when rising from a sitting or sleeping posture.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

• This medicine can cause dizziness and drowsiness. It is not recommended to drive, operate machinery, or do other activities that require mental alertness or coordination after taking this medicine. 

Use In Pregnancy And Lactation

• Losartan is notrecommended for use in Pregnant and Lactating females.

Caution In Other Conditions

• Caution is advised for use of Losartan in patients with liver disease and those with reduced kidney function.

• Alcohol consumption should be avoided when using losartan.
• Monitor the renal function and potassium levels periodically as per doctor's instructions while using Losartan.
• Individuals with hypertension and coronary artery disease should consider lifestyle modifications, including dietary changes such as a low-sodium, low-carbohydrate, and low-fat diet. Regular exercise, like brisk walking for at least 30 minutes daily, five days a week, is also recommended to control blood pressure.
