• Mometasone is available for use via topical route in the form of cream.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults and children above 6 years.

Contraindications

• Mometasone is contraindicated in patients with known allergies to it and in patients with skin conditions such as rosacea, acne, skin atrophy, dermatitis around the mouth, genital itching, nappy rash, cold sores, chickenpox, shingles, warts, ulcerated skin, wounds, and other skin infections.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Contact your doctor if you are using other topical corticosteroid medicines. 

Overdose and Missed Dose

• As this is a topical medicine, overdose is unlikely. 
• If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But avoid repeating the dose.

Management of Side Effects

• Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• This medication will not impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid heavy work while you are on it.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

• Take this medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if prescribed by your doctor.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Patients with skin conditions like rosacea, acne, skin atrophy, dermatitis around the mouth, genital itching, nappy rash, cold sores, chickenpox, shingles, warts, ulcerated skin, wounds, and other skin infections should exercise caution while using this medicine.

• Consume foods high in the flavonoid quercetin, which includes blueberries, apples, cherries, broccoli, and spinach.
• Eating foods high in probiotics strengthens the body's defences against allergies.
• Eat fewer foods that can cause allergies, such as nuts, dairy products, soy, and eggs.
• Foods high in sugar should be avoided since they may exacerbate inflammation.
• Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, salmon, and healthy fats are all part of your diet.
• It would assist in lowering stress and keeping a regular sleep schedule.
• Keeping away from rough textiles, harsh detergents, and soaps.
