Risedronate is a type of medicine known as a bisphosphonate.
It acts by binding firmly to your bones and slowing down the activity of cells that break down bone tissue. This helps to increase the density of the minerals in your bones, making them stronger, maintaining bone strength, and reducing the risk of fractures.
