How Rosuvastatin works

  • Rosuvastatin is a statin.
  • It acts by lowering cholesterol levels in the blood. It blocks an enzyme in the liver that makes cholesterol.
  • Reducing the "bad cholesterol" (LDL cholesterol) levels helps prevent plaque buildup in our arteries, which can cause heart problems.
  • Additionally, it can raise "good cholesterol" (HDL cholesterol) levels, which helps remove excess cholesterol from our blood vessels. This helps keep our blood vessels clear and reduces the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
