Alkarate Liquid 100ml

Alkarate Liquid is used for managing the following conditions:

• Gout, a painful condition caused by high uric acid levels leading to joint inflammation

• Kidney stones, particularly those formed due to acidic urine

• Urinary tract infections, which can be exacerbated by acidic urine

• Renal tubular acidosis, which is a kidney disorder that results in acidic urine and metabolic acidosis

Administer Alkarate Liquid as follows:

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Measure the appropriate dose and mix it in a glass of water.

• Drink the entire amount slowly for best absorption.

• Ensure you take this medicine after meals to minimise gastrointestinal discomfort.

Alkarate Liquid is taken orally.

Alkarate Liquid contains disodium hydrogen citrate (1.37 gm), which functions in your body as follows:

• Formation of Bicarbonate: After intake, disodium hydrogen citrate dissociates into citrate and sodium ions in the body. The citrate ions combine with hydrogen ions to form citric acid which eventually gets metabolised into bicarbonate.

• Increases Urine pH: As a result of the formation of bicarbonate, the pH or alkalinity of urine increases.

• Enhances Uric Acid Excretion: In an alkaline urine environment, uric acid exists more as soluble urate ions than insoluble uric acid, promoting its excretion and preventing its accumulation in joints and kidneys.

• Inhibits Bacterial Growth: The alkaline nature of urine hinders bacterial growth that can cause urinary tract infections.

• Keep Alkarate Liquid at room temperature, ideally between 15°C and 30°C.

• Protect it from direct light and moisture.

• Ensure the bottle is firmly sealed when not in use.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach from children.

• Since Alkarate Liquid helps manage gout, try to limit your intake of high-purine foods like red meat, shellfish, and alcoholic beverages. These can increase uric acid levels in your body.

• To help prevent kidney stones, drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. This helps dilute the substances that lead to stones and encourages their passage through the urinary system.
