Alkof-LS Cough Expectorant is used to manage the following conditions:

• Symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections

• Bronchial asthma (Inflammation of airways, making them narrow and swollen, leading to the production of extra mucus)

• Chronic bronchitis (Inflammation of airways causing cough often with mucus production)

• Cough relief

Alkof-LS Cough Expectorant is used as follows:

• Measure the correct dose using a medicine cup or spoon.

• Take the syrup with or without food.

• Always remember to shake the bottle well before use to ensure even distribution of the ingredients.

• Close the bottle tightly after use to prevent contamination.

Alkof-LS Cough Expectorant is taken orally.

Alkof-LS Cough Expectorant contains four active ingredients:

• Ambroxol Hydrochloride (15 mg): It is a mucolytic agent that helps loosen the mucus in the airways, making it easier to clear and facilitating productive coughing.

• Levosalbutamol (0.5 mg): It is a bronchodilator that relaxes the airway muscles, providing relief from bronchoconstriction and improving airflow, which helps ease breathing difficulties.

• Menthol (0.5 mg): It is a cooling agent which has a soothing effect on the throat and airways. It provides a cooling sensation that can help reduce throat irritation and provide temporary relief from cough and congestion. Additionally, menthol can help open up the nasal passages, making it easier to breathe.

• Guaiphenesin (50 mg):  It is an expectorant which works by loosening and thinning mucus in the airways, making it easier for the body to expel. This helps to reduce the viscosity of mucus, facilitating its clearance and relieving chest congestion, cough, and related discomfort.

• Alkof-LS Cough Expectorant should be stored in a cool, dry, and dark place.

• Keep it at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

• Avoid exposing the syrup to direct sunlight for prolonged periods.

• Always ensure the syrup is out of reach of children.

• Use Alkof-LS Syrup before its expiry date.

• If you have a cold, consume warm fluids like soups and herbal teas to soothe your throat.

• Avoid exposure to allergens such as dust and pollen, which may aggravate your runny nose and sneezing symptoms.

• Quit smoking or avoid second-hand smoke as it can further irritate your throat and worsen coughing.
