Alsita-M 50 Tablet is used for:

• Regulating high blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

• Complementing a healthy diet and exercise regimen for better glycemic control.

• Reducing the risk of diabetes-related complications when single-medicine therapy fails.

• Enhancing the body's response to insulin, a hormone responsible for regulating blood sugar.

• Slowing down the absorption of sugar from the gut, thereby preventing sudden spikes in blood sugar.

Here are some instructions for taking Alsita-M 50 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not split, crush, or chew the tablet as it may affect the medicine's efficacy.

• Always take this medicine during or after meals to avoid stomach upset.

• Remember to follow your doctor's advice on how often you need to take this medicine.

• It is crucial not to stop taking this medicine without your doctor's approval.

Alsita-M 50 Tablet is taken orally.

Alsita-M 50 Tablet consists of two key components:

• Metformin (500 mg): This component decreases glucose production by the liver, lowers intestinal absorption of glucose, and enhances insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and usage. It does not cause hypoglycaemia.

• Sitagliptin (50 mg): Acting as a DPP-4 inhibitor, sitagliptin increases the production of insulin by the pancreas and decreases the production of glucagon (a hormone that raises blood sugar) in a glucose-dependent manner. This action also does not induce hypoglycaemia when used alone.

• Store Alsita-M 50 Tablet at a cool temperature, below 30°C.

• Keep it away from excessive moisture and direct sunlight.

• This medicine should be kept out of the reach of children.

• Ensure you use the tablet before its expiry date.
