Alsita-MP 500 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Improving glycemic control in conjunction with diet and exercise

• Controlling blood sugar levels when single-medicine therapy is insufficient

Follow these instructions while taking Alsita-MP 500 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not split, crush or chew the tablet as this might disrupt its extended-release properties.

• Regularity is key for optimal blood sugar control, so take it at the same time daily.

• Do not alter your dosage without first consulting your doctor.

Alsita-MP 500 Tablet is taken orally.

Alsita-MP 500 Tablet comprises three active ingredients that work together to manage blood glucose levels:

• Metformin (500 mg): This component works by reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver, decreasing the absorption of glucose from the intestines, and increasing the utilization of glucose in peripheral tissues, thereby improving insulin sensitivity.

• Pioglitazone (15 mg): Part of the thiazolidinedione class of medicines, pioglitazone boosts the effects of insulin on skeletal muscle, adipose tissue, and the liver. This process decreases insulin resistance in the periphery and liver, resulting in improved glycemic control.

• Sitagliptin (100 mg): As a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, sitagliptin slows the inactivation of incretin hormones, increasing their concentrations in the bloodstream. This action stimulates the release of insulin in a glucose-dependent manner and decreases glucagon secretion, reducing both fasting and postprandial glucose concentrations.
