Directions for Use of Amleod H Tablet 10

Take the tablet with a full glass of water without cutting, breaking, or chewing it.

Managing the Side Effects:

Most of the side effects resolve on discontinuation of Amleod H Tablet and are temporary and, in the majority of cases, do not require medical attention. Avoid any task that needs alertness till hypotension subsides. Drink ORS solutions to replenish electrolytes. If you experience severe or persistent side effects from this tablet, consult your doctor.

Amleod H Tablet contains the following components:

Amlodipine (5 mg): It belongs to a class of medications called calcium channel blockers. It exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle cells and cardiac muscle cells. By blocking calcium channels, amlodipine causes relaxation and dilation of blood vessels (arteries and arterioles), leading to a reduction in blood pressure.
Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg): Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic, specifically a thiazide diuretic. It works by increasing the excretion of sodium and chloride ions in the distal renal tubules. This action leads to increased water excretion and decreased volume of blood plasma. As a result, there is a reduction in blood volume and a decrease in cardiac output, which helps lower blood pressure.

Pregnancy

Before taking Amleod H Tablet, it is necessary to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Your doctor will assess the potential risks and benefits and may recommend safer alternative medications during pregnancy.
