Astom 20 MG Capsule 10

Astom 20 MG Capsule 10 is used for the following conditions:

• Management of gastroesophageal reflux disease, commonly known as GERD
• Controlling acid reflux and heartburn symptoms
• Helping to heal peptic ulcer disease including gastric and duodenal ulcers
• Controlling excess stomach acid in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• Healing of erosive oesophagitis, a condition causing inflammation and damage to the oesophagus
• Assisting in the eradication of H. pylori bacteria when used alongside antibiotics

Here's how you should take Astom 20 MG Capsule 10:

1. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.
2. Do not chew or crush the capsule.
3. Take it preferably on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before a meal.
4. Always follow your doctor's advice on how and when to take this medicine.

• Blocks H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system: The active ingredient omeprazole in Astom 20 MG Capsule 10 effectively blocks the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system, also known as the proton pump. This enzyme system is found in gastric parietal cells, which are responsible for secreting stomach acid.
