Benicort 4 MG Injection 1 ML is used for the following:

• Severe acute asthma exacerbations

• Acute gouty arthritis

• Rheumatoid arthritis

• Inflammatory skin conditions like erythroderma

• Severe allergic reactions such as angioedema or anaphylaxis

• Cerebral oedema associated with brain tumours

• Acute spinal cord injury

• Foetal lung maturation in preterm labour between 24 to 34 weeks of pregnancy

• Epicondylitis and tenosynovitis

• Osteoarthritic or post-traumatic joint effusions

• Skin lesions like alopecia areata, keloids, lichen planus, and psoriatic plaques

• This medicine should be administered by a medical professional.

• It can be administered as a deep intramuscular, intra-articular, intralesional or soft tissue injection.

Benicort 4 MG Injection 1 ML is administered via an intramuscular route.

Benicort 4 MG Injection 1 ML contains Betamethasone (4 Mg), which performs several actions in your body:

• Phospholipase A2 Enzyme Inhibition: Betamethasone blocks the activity of an enzyme called phospholipase A2 in your body. This enzyme is involved in producing substances that cause inflammation. By blocking this enzyme, betamethasone reduces inflammation.

• Suppression of Immune Response: It suppresses the production of certain proteins (interleukins, TNF alpha, and IFN gamma) that play a role in immune response and inflammation.

• Reduction of Immune Cells at Inflammation Sites: It reduces the number of certain immune cells (lymphocytes, eosinophils, and monocytes) at sites of inflammation.

• Reduction of Vascular Permeability and Vasodilation: It reduces the leakage and dilation of blood vessels, which are common features of inflammation.

• Suppression of Fibroblast Proliferation and Collagen Deposition: It suppresses the growth and activity of fibroblasts, cells that produce collagen, a protein that can contribute to inflammation when overproduced.
