Britzilam 50 is used for the following conditions:

• Managing partial-onset seizures: These are seizures that start in a specific area of the brain and may spread to other parts.

• Control of myoclonic seizures: These are sudden, brief, involuntary muscle jerks.

• Management of primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures: These are seizures that involve the entire body and are often known as grand mal seizures.

While taking Britzilam 50, kindly follow these instructions:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Taking this medicine is usually done twice daily, with or without food.

Britzilam 50 is taken orally.

Britzilam 50 contains brivaracetam (50 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Binding to Synaptic Vesicle Protein 2A (SV2A): Brivaracetam attaches itself to SV2A proteins found in nerve cells in your brain.

• Suppressing Abnormal Electrical Activity: By binding to these specific sites, brivaracetam suppresses the abnormal electrical activity that leads to seizures.

• Slowing Down Nerve Impulse Conduction: This action reduces the frequency and spread of nerve impulses, helping stabilise the excessive neuronal excitation associated with epileptic disorders.

• Store Britzilam 50 in a cool, dry place at room temperature, which is typically around 25 degrees Celsius.

• Keep it away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

• Ensure the medicine container is closed tightly when not in use to prevent exposure to air and moisture.

• Always keep Britzilam 50 out of the reach of children.

• Check the expiry date on the pack and make sure to use the medicine before it expires.

• Maintain a healthy diet rich in vitamins and minerals, as certain dietary deficits may increase seizure susceptibility. Include lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins in your meals.
