Brivasure-50 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing partial-onset seizures in adults with epilepsy

• Controlling seizures in adolescents suffering from epilepsy

• Reducing seizure episodes in children aged 1 month and older diagnosed with epilepsy

• Used as a standalone therapy for managing seizures

• Employed in conjunction with other antiepileptic medications to control seizures effectively

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Make sure you don't crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• It's essential not to stop taking this medicine without first consulting your doctor.

Brivasure-50 Tablet is taken orally.

Brivasure-50 Tablet contains brivaracetam (50 mg) and operates in the body as follows:

• Synaptic Vesicle Protein 2A (SV2A) Binding: Brivaracetam shows a high affinity for a protein in your brain called SV2A. This protein helps regulate the release of neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that transmit messages between nerve cells in the brain.

• Stabilisation of Neuronal Membranes: By binding to SV2A, brivaracetam helps to stabilise neuronal membranes that are overly excited. This stabilisation process inhibits excessive neurotransmitter release.

• Seizure Prevention: The inhibition of excessive neurotransmitter release prevents seizures. However, the exact mechanism of how brivaracetam helps prevent seizures is not fully understood.

• Store Brivasure-50 Tablet safely at room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in a tightly closed container to protect it from light and moisture.

• Always ensure the tablet is out of reach of children.

• Be mindful to use the medication before its expiry date.

• Since Brivasure-50 Tablet is used to manage epilepsy, avoid foods that can trigger seizures. These may include caffeine and gluten; everyone is unique, so be aware of what affects you.
