Capofin 70 MG Injection 1 is used for the following:

• Management of invasive aspergillosis in patients who are refractory to or intolerant of other antifungal therapies

• Control of candidemia and various Candida infections, including intra-abdominal abscesses, peritonitis, and pleural space infections

• Management of esophageal candidiasis

• Empirical therapy for assumed fungal infections in febrile neutropenic patients

• This medicine is administered via slow intravenous infusion over approximately 1 hour.

• It should be given only by a qualified medical professional in a hospital or clinical setting.

Capofin 70 MG Injection 1 contains caspofungin acetate (70 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Inhibits Beta(1,3)-D-Glucan Synthase: Caspofungin blocks an enzyme called beta(1,3)-D-glucan synthase. This enzyme is crucial in making beta(1,3)-D-glucan, a key fungal cell wall component.

• Disrupts Fungal Cell Wall: By inhibiting the activity of beta(1,3)-D-glucan synthase, caspofungin causes osmotic instability and ruptures the fungal cell wall, leading to fungal cell death. This action helps manage severe systemic fungal infections effectively.
